The Yucatan peninsula can be visited all year round. The most comfortable temperatures can be experienced in the winter months between November and March (Table of Temperatures). During the rain season (May – October) approximately 60-70% of the area's annual rainfall will occur in the form of very heavy downpours.

Due to the year-round comfortably warm temperatures and an annual rainfall of approx. 1500 mm, the peninsula boasts luscious vegetation with coastline mangrove forests, briar forests in the North and tropical rain forests in the South.
